Antenna
Dear Mom,
I am SO embarrassed. WHY did you ever let me wear a ponytail sticking straight out of my head? It looks like an antenna on a teletubby. And, those cheeks--what? Please tell me I wasn't that chubby. . .well, okay I guess I was pretty cute. But, the hairdo, really. . .c'mon.
Exasperatedly yours,
Coco
Awww...
Mr. Turner sent me an email from work which reads:
You sure can be awfully. . .
. . .delightful
. . .fun to be around
. . .good to talk to
. . .good to our girls
. . .awesome
. . .hot stuff
You are what I want the girls to be.
My response?
Why, thank you, Mr. Turner. Here is the last slice of pie I saved just for you. Oh yeah, and ditto.

Petrol
Petrol (as they call it in England) is having a tough time making it here to us in Nashville from Houston due to the Hurricane Ike. Friday, I went to filler up and there was no petrol to be had. Wherever I went there were bags around the pump meaning they're dry. It was a huge news story (still is), thus, the local news got blamed for the shortage. Say what? Yep--CNN reported that Nashville's local media created a panic (by reporting the news--was that what they're supposed to do?), and therefore, a shortage. Well, ahem. . .here's what CNN has to say when the same crisis is happening in their headquarters city of Atlanta. Uh. . .Houston, we have a problem.

High School Tag
Your High School's Name-East Anchorage High School
High School Colors- Red, White & Blue
High School Mascot- T-Birds (Thunderbirds) (on a totem pole, seriously)
Did you date anyone from your school?- Of course. I lived in Alaska where else was I going to find anyone else to date. . .that didn't have a rifle and hunting gear on all the time?
What kind of car did you drive?- I didn't need a car. My friends had cars or, if needed, we dog mushed to school. . .uphill, in the snow;)
It's Friday night where are you?- Church dances or slumber parties with my friends.
Were you a party animal?- A slumber party animal
Were you considered a flirt?- I hope not.
Were you in band, orchestra, choir, or any other group?- I am not musically inclined, but I was the Yearbook Editor.
Were you in any clubs?- No, they were for the less-than-cool kids;)
Did you ever get suspended or expelled?- Nope
Can you still sing the fight song?- Never could sing it.
Who were your favorite teachers?- Mr. Weatherwax. He was my yearbook instructor and he saw a diamond in the rough with me and helped me get out of my nerdy, shy-shell.
Where did you sit during lunch?- Because we were always fighting deadlines, I ate my lunch in the yearbook room.
Who did you go to Homecoming with?- My friends
Who did you go to Prom with?- My sophomore year I went with Mitch G. (he was a cool senior who took me to his prom). My junior year I went with Chris E. who, for my birthday, filled my entire room up with pink balloons--I couldn't even walk in). My senior year I went with Shaun D.
If you could go back and re-do high school would you?- No way!! I would re-do my college days though!
What do you remember about Graduation?- Too long. I remember sobbing and wishing my dad could have been there to see me. My mom sent me roses from him that day saying how he would be so proud of me (same with my college graduation).
Do you plan on going to your 10 year reunion, or if you already went what was it like?- No. Too far away. Maybe someday though.
I tag Gail, Jill, Joanna, Candice, Suzanne, Kristi and whoever else wants to do this!

Awkward
Click the video above to watch Coco in action, but pause my playlist first!
Last night Jared and the girls watched "Nacho Libre". Apparently, they only wanted to watch it because there's lots of tooting in it. During the toast scene (two people are eating toast silently together), Coco blurted out, "Awkweeerd!" How does she even know that that was an awkward moment?

The Quest. . .Continues
59-0. Need I say more? We had a BYU football party at our house Saturday. We got the ward projector and screen and Keith set it up in our bonus room! We loved having true blue BYU fans all in the same room! Thanks Keith, Andrew, and the Hollingsheads! Go Cougs!

I Need a Brownie
Scotlyn was initiated into her Brownie Girl Scout Troop on Tuesday. When it was over and we left she said, "Well, I didn't get any fun."

stephaNIE NIElson
I've been preoccupied about a story I saw on somebody else's blog about a fellow blogger: Stephanie (Nie Nie) Nielson and her husband, Mr. Nielson. Her sister, C Jane has been updating her blog for her while Stephanie fights for her life in a burn center in Arizona.
From C Jane's blog: ". . .as part of our LDS doctrine, we are fully aware of the sacredness of the soul. And we believe in a Father in Heaven who has a plan for our souls. There is something about walking through the valley of the shadow of death that reminds us how glorious it is to have a body and a spirit. And we look forward to the day when both will be inseparable. Where is the tragedy here?"
You can donate if you want to the Nielson's fund for medical bills. I have a link on the top right of my blog. Here is a beautiful tribute to them that a fellow blogger put together.
