My Little Elf

Scotlyn's teacher, Mrs. H., made these for all the children. Scotlyn is apparently the only cheeky poser in the class. Love you, Scotty!

About that Snowman. . .

Since we've lived in Nashville (for over 2 years) it has never snowed in December. It is usually pretty balmy compared to other parts of the country. When it snows, it's only maybe once or twice in February. Well, it snowed last night. Some in these parts just may have called it a "blizzard". Of course, it melted by noon today, but here are some pictures of the girls enjoying it!

Melty. . .The Southern Snowman

Here is my finished wreath product. Maybe it looks better in person than in these pictures. But, I said I would share so here it is!

Predators

Scotlyn got a wonderful prize for being such a great reader at school! She got 2 tickets to a Nashville Predators game. She chose to take her daddy who accepted gladly! She especially got into watching all the fights between the players!

Slumber Party

We all (including me) had a slumber party at the Frost's house last Friday. We had so much fun! Thanks Frosty's!

Rock On!

At a Brownie Girl Scout outing, Scotlyn's troop went to Pump It Up and she climbed the rock wall. She got almost to the top and looked down and decided she was done. We are so proud of her! You rock, Scotty!

We Love To See the Temple

Our fam trying to stay warm at the temple.

Backstage Grand Ole Opry House

Ooh-la-la! Check out these posers with Lee's cousin, Talese! We sat the the left of where Jared's head is. They were excellent seats and we could see all the Rockette's formations and facial expressions clearly.

Backstage (probably where country music singers wait to perform).

A pair of the stiff, starched pants the Rockettes wear for the toy soldier act. That was my favorite scene! I don't know how they did it!

Because Lee's cousin is a Rockette we got to go backstage and check out the workings of the place! What an awesome experience the whole night was! Thanks again, B family!

RADIO City Rockettes in MUSIC City?

Lee, Tricia, me and Jared in front of the Grand Ole Opry entrance (we couldn't take pics inside the house).

Jared and I on the steps around the Grand Ole Opry.

Driving on our date and singing Kenny Roger's songs! Yee-haw!

I've lived in Nashville for over 2 years now and this is the first time I've ever been inside the Grand Ole Opry house. What better way to see it than with the Radio City Rockettes performing? Lee's cousin is a Rockette and they treated us to a night out on the town! We went to dinner before and actually braved the Opry Mills Mall for bargains! Thanks guys!

Tour de NASH

Our fam in front of a wall somewhere in Nashville.

This one's for their wedding video someday. . .Ty and Scotlyn. Jared already approves (Ty was named after Ty Detmer, a former BYU quarterback that Jared idolizes).

Our girls at the pond near the Parthenon. It was overcast, but apparently they needed sunglasses.

Scotlyn made a bouquet of leaves and Ty is running away scared!

Friday we gave the B family a grand tour of Nashville albeit from our car mostly since it was so cold. We did a drive by through downtown at the Sommet Center, Ryman Auditorium, Vanderbilt University, and the Greek Parthenon.

Our Thanksgiving Feast

Our friends, Lee & Tricia, and their kids Ty and Katie drove all the way from OK to talk turkey! We had a great Thanksgiving meal, but the real feast came when Jared and Lee both serenaded us with their unique, harmonious sound. For dessert, they serenaded the elders and sisters, too. They sang in BYU Men's Chorus together and serenaded me on the day Jared and I were married. Now, 11 years later, we had the privilege of listening to them again. It sounded even better in person. They are so talented they should cut a record--we are in Music City, afterall! Thanks to Meesh for the use of the guitars!

Introducing. . .Our Drama Queen

I guess Ozzy Osbourne was on Hannah Montana and Bryn thought he was hilarious so she impersonated him and wanted me to show you with supporting actress, Taylor. Introducing her and. . .Bryn-zy Osbourne. (Don't forget to pause the playlist).

Twi-Hards

Here is a small portion of the group I went with to see the Twilight movie. These are some of the most amazing women I have ever met! They are part of my ward family and I am so happy to call them my sistas. The movie was awesome! I loved every minute of it--especially when Jacob showed up. . .

You Twubble Face

As I was looking on Picasa for something to blog about today:

Coco: That you, mommy.
Me: Yep
Coco: That "you in big twubble" face, mommy.
Me: What?
Coco: You mad at me?
Me: Not at all
Coco: No. . .in the picture, mommy. Nebbermind.

Picture was taken by Jared when he knew I didn't want him to--HE was in twubble.

Cheesy Cheesecake

Sister Thacker and Sister Day

Sister Nielson and Sister Smith

On Monday, I decided to challenge my fundamental beliefs that high-end malls are bad. I decided that I should just go on right ahead and use my $100 gift card that I tried to sell to others in order to use the money elsewhere. I am so happy I did! The sisters got to go with me to the Mall at Green Hills (out of their area) since it was their P-Day and we met up with the Green Hills sisters, one of which is Sister Thacker! I got to give that girl a HUGE hug and laugh and talk with her again! We shopped (I got a $60 skirt for $22.94) and went to lunch at The Cheesecake Factory. Oh yeah. . .I still have $77.06 to spend. I guess we'll have to make another trip! BUMMER ;)

Crafty. . .again

Due to Cami's awesome crafting skills, she taught me the basics of making wreaths. She's obviously was taking a bow in the first photo. NOT! Anyhoo, I will post the final product of my wreath when it is complete and I feel satisfied with it. . .hopefully before Christmas.
